The Department of Homeland Security (“DHS”) announced on March 3rd, 2016 that it will be testing the “Known Employer Pilot” program that could potentially reduce the amount of paperwork and processing time of applications for certain visa classifications. USCIS will take up to nine preselected employers who filed an application, and will predetermine whether or not they meet requirements regarding certain visa classifications. Upon approval, these employers will have their application information stored in a database, and all future applications will be processed without having to file redundant information. If adopted, this could produce a substantial reduction in documentation and processing time for employment based visa applications.
