Due to processing delays in I-140 and I-485 applications, USCIS rebalanced the workload distribution of certain Form I-140 petitions and employment-based Form I-485 applications between the Texas Service Center and the Nebraska Service Center. Many cases were transferred from the Texas Service Center (where adjustment cases were taking 8-12 months to be processed) to Nebraska Service Center. USCIS confirmed that when a case is transferred to a new service center the processing time clock starts from the date of the transfer and not the date of the filing, which will cause more delays.
