On August 15, 2014, USCIS made an announcement stating that relief measures will be offered to nationals of Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone currently living in the United States. Due to the Ebola outbreak back in their home countries, USCIS is granting ease for their immigration matters.
One of the mentioned relief measures available is change or extension of nonimmigrant status even if the request is filed after the authorized period of admission has expired as well as for petitions for immediate relatives by U.S. citizens currently living in the United States. Another measure is expedited adjudication and approval for F-1 students experiencing severe economic hardships throughout their studentship. USCIS also offers consideration for waiver of fees associate with USCIS benefit applications as well as extensions on certain grants of parole made by USCIS.
